Biography
Nikolaos Beis is an internationally active Greek violinist, soloist, and educator, with a career spanning performances across Europe, the United States, and Asia. He has appeared at major concert venues including Carnegie Hall (New York), the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Tonhalle Zürich, Victoria Hall (Geneva), De Doelen (Rotterdam), as well as Greece's Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Megaron Concert Halls, and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.
Beis made his solo debut at the age of 10 performing Bach's Double Violin Concerto, and at 12 appeared as soloist in Ravel's Tzigane with the Patras Orchestra under Saulius Sondeckis. He has since performed as soloist with the Athens Symphony Orchestra, ZHdK Strings, Athens Classical Players, the National Youth Symphony Orchestra of Greece, and the De Profundis Ensemble.
From 2022 to 2024, he served in the first violin section of the Athens State Orchestra. His orchestral experience also includes collaborations with Amsterdam Sinfonietta, the Greek National Opera Orchestra, Camerata Armonia Atenea, the National Symphony Orchestra of Greece (ERT), the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, Continuo Chamber Orchestra, Astoria Symphony Orchestra, and ensembles such as ERGON Ensemble, Athens Classical Players, and Giraud Ensemble.

On Teaching
Beis is an experienced violin pedagogue with over 15 years of international teaching activity in Greece, the United States, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. His previous appointments include the Athens National Conservatory and Argos Municipal Conservatory; he currently serves on the faculty of the International Music Institute Abu Dhabi.
His students have earned distinctions in national competitions and demonstrate consistently high examination outcomes. His teaching approach prioritizes tonal refinement, systematic technical development, and expressive interpretation, shaped by his studies with Igor Gruppman and Rudolf Koelman—both direct pedagogical descendants of Jascha Heifetz.
Honors & Masterclasses
He has participated in masterclasses with Leonidas Kavakos, Gordan Nikolić, Pierre Amoyal, Boris Belkin, Grigori Zhislin, Herwig Zack, Sergey Kravchenko, and Taras Gabora.
His honors include First Prizes from the Yamaha Foundation and the Greek National Competition, as well as scholarships from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) and the Ismini Carter / Laskaridis Foundation.
